Tywin Lannister was the Lord of Casterly Rock, Warden of the West, and Hand to multiple Kings in the HBO series Game of Thrones. Born into the powerful House Lannister, his primary motivation was securing his family's legacy and ensuring their continued dominance in Westeros.
Ruthless and calculating, Tywin was a formidable military strategist and a shrewd political player. He rebuilt the Lannister's reputation after his father's ineffectiveness and instilled a sense of discipline and ambition in his children, though often through harsh methods.
He orchestrated the Red Wedding, a brutal massacre that eliminated many of his enemies and solidified the Lannister's control over the Iron Throne. His complex relationships with his children, particularly Tyrion, were a central element of his character and ultimately led to his demise. He was ultimately killed by his son Tyrion, while on the toilet.
